ABOUT FOXBORO SPORTS TAVERN

Wicked Food, Killer Cocktails, AND Awesome Service

The Best Food For Over 15 Years

Wicked Food, Killer Cocktails, and Awesome Service

Foxboro Sports Tavern has been a Southwest Florida tradition since 2003, when brothers Thom and Rob Popoli decided to follow their passions and open a restaurant that paid homage to their Boston-area upbringing, love of sports, community, and good food. From day one, the vision has been to create a restaurant that is all about Wicked Food, Killer Cocktails, and Awesome Service. Not to mention plenty of television screens!

Fast forward a few years and Foxboro, which now counts two locations—the original Naples spot and a restaurant in Bonita Springs—has a deserved reputation as a go-to destination among locals and visitors. Our fans come from all over, and return again and again, because they know they’re part of the Foxboro family.

Since 2005, when Rob decided to move on to new ventures, Thom has been at the helm of Foxboro. Happily, our success has coincided with amazing results for our Boston and New England sports teams. Since Foxboro has opened, the Patriots have won 5 Super Bowls and been in 3 more, the Red Sox have won 4 World Series, and the Bruins and Celtics have each won one championship each. We’ll claim whatever part we can in those victories, cheering our hearts out from Southwest Florida!

A Commitment to our Community

Foxboro has also made its mark as a community partner. Thom Popoli was a longtime volunteer with Lely High School’s wrestling and football programs, and is a proud Lely parent of student-athletes at the school. Thom is devoted to the school and its kids, with real results.

Since 2003, Foxboro Sports Tavern has raised or donated:

  • More than 15,000 pre-game team meals, tens of thousands of dollars to remodel and restore the weight room, purchase one-man sled, purchase many other T-Shirts, as well as provide other work-out equipment for Lely High Trojan Football;
  • Over 6000 meals and over $45,000 to Trojan Wrestling Club;
  • Thousands of dollars as well as new uniforms to the Lely High School Cheerleaders;
  • More than 3600 meals, 60 new uniforms and sponsored 3 trips to USF Girls Basketball Camp for the Lely Trojan Girls Basketball;

Continuing the Tradition

We are very proud to be able to contribute like this to our local community. With our expansion into Bonita Springs, look for similar impact and involvement with the new Bonita High School and their Bonita Bull Sharks! We started off on the right foot with the school, providing the varsity football pre-game meals during their first ever year of play, even before we’d opened our doors in Bonita.

Our fans are our family and are why we’ve been so fortunate to receive so many accolades over the years. Some of these include: Top 100 Sports Bars in the Country in Sports Illustrated 2006; Best of Southwest Florida in Gulfshore Life; Best Sports Bar in Naples Daily News; Best Sports Bar in the Ft. Myers News-Press; featured on NESN Dining Playbook with Billy & Jenny Super Bowl LI Pre-Game on WINK TV Cooking Show; and coverage from the likes of Boston Globe, Boston Herald, The Washington Post, ESPN the Magazine, as well as The Providence Journal and many other regional New England newspapers, and the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots websites.

All these tributes are meaningless without the support of both our local and seasonal guests! It is our goal to continue to grow and expand our brand of community first values and hometown tavern style dining. Don’t be a stranger! Because once you walk through the door, you’re family.
